My 3 New Fave Summer Sorbet Places

Hi everyone,

Hellooooo summer finally!! It definitely feels like summer with these super scorching humid and hot 1st long weekend of the summer! Yes it’s officially summer now as June 21, 2018 marks the first official day of summer. As summer was approaching in Toronto, we were already feeling the heat and sunny days, I am loving every minute of it especially since coming back from my hot and tropical vacation in Jamaica. I am definitely ready for these hot and sunny days in Toronto.

Who’s ready for summer this year?? What are you guys looking forward to this summer?? I can’t wait for more food festivals, music festivals, beach days and day trips & getaways. I always enjoy the warmer and not too hot days here in Toronto. I tend to enjoy the summer days either within the city or to neighbouring cities to enjoy the beaches and quaint towns atmosphere in Ontario. So if you are looking for ways to cool down within Toronto, one of the best ways is of course with cold frozen desserts, right?

Well with these hot and humid summer months in Toronto, yes there are some days way too humid for me even lol and I love to cool down with cold, sweet and freshly made fruit sorbets desserts. For those like me, who enjoys dairyfree foods, it sometimes is a challenge to find a great tasting frozen dessert to cool down with and I think that sorbets are a great option to refresh your palate and cool down in the sun. Sorbets are made of water, fruit and sugar, which I love that is 100% fruit, which tends to be more healthier.

My Top 3 Fave Sorbet Places

Here are 3 new Sorbet places I discovered that I highly recommend to you my readers where I enjoyed sweet, delicious and freshly made sorbets for you to enjoy this summer. Some of the places you wouldn’t even think of have that will serve this type of dessert are some of the hidden gems for sorbets.

#1. Nadège Patisserie

Nadège Patisserie is well known for French modern desserts and most popular dessert, macarons along with their beautiful and delicious variety of pastries from mini cakes to tarts to chocolate bonbons. You wouldn’t think that Nadège Patisserie would have ice cream or sorbet as part of the menu? To my surprise, recently opened by Nadège a cozy and intimate ice cream shop serving gelato and sorbet at their Queen location only. It is located at the corner of Queen and Gore Vale Avenue, a few steps after their outdoor patio is a separate ice cream shop they have set up. There are also helpful signs along the way to help you find the shop. It is surely not to be missed.

I love their intimate and friendly open space ice cream shop especially the pink walls!! There are 16 flavours available. The gelatos are mostly based on Nadège Patisserie cakes and the sorbets are fruit based, which makes them vegan and dairy free. They have a great selection of flavours for even people like me who are dairy free and I love that there are good selection of dairy free flavours to choose from. They also have toppings to add to your gelato or sorbet, which includes sauces such as chocolate, caramel & strawberry, mini macarons, caramel popcorn, whipped cream and more! They also make ice cream sandwiches, wow!! A great selection of frozen dessert for everyone including those who enjoy dairy free desserts!!

*The beautiful macaron tower with the ice cream print from their Yorkdale Location*

I ended up choosing the Raspberry sorbet with mini macarons toppings, which was simply delicious and full of flavour. I loved the fruity and sweet flavour!!

I can’t wait to come back for another visit to Nadège Patisserie Queen St Ice Cream shop to sample the other delicious and sweet flavours!! For Nadège other locations, they only serve the soft serve ice creams, which has dairy in them. If you are interested for a larger flavour selection and the dairy free sorbets are available only at the Queen St location Ice Cream shop.

I definitely recommend you guys checking out Nadège Patisserie new Ice Cream Shop at their Queen Street location as you definitely will not be disappointed with their variety of selection and sweet fruity taste!! With the Trinity Bellwoods park located right beside the shop, it is the perfect spot to enjoy a refreshing cold frozen dessert for the summer outdoors.

#2. Butter Avenue

My 2nd place that I’m recommending you go to is Butter Avenue. Butter Avenue is known for their high quality French macarons with their Japanese inspired flavours. As well they have a great selection of mini cakes, tarts and more. Butter Avenue is one of my fave macaron shops to go to so I was also surprised that they decided to add ice cream to their menu as well. I was even more excited when I found out that they had a dairy free sorbet as one of their flavours for ice cream.

Butter Avenue offers only 2 delicious flavoursUji Matcha (made with our direct import matcha from Uji, Kyoto) or the Strawberry purée (made with 100% real strawberry, vegan & dairy free) or you could have the swirl and taste the two delicious flavours all at once!

They recently introduced the Lychee Strawberry Sorbet sundae (which is the Strawberry purée the dairy free sorbet), which consists of lychee agar jelly, mini Strawberry macaron, Strawberry sauce and merginue cookies. What a perfect summer cold treat to have right?? Of course, I had to stop by Butter Avenue to try the Lychee Strawberry Sorbet Sundae and wow the strawberry sorbet was light yet creamy texture even with no dairy in it. I love the combination of the Strawberry sorbet with the lychee taste!! The perfect topping was that cute mini Strawberry macaron of course! This is the definitely the perfect summer frozen treat to enjoy on a hot summer day. You can have the sorbet to eat at Butter Avenue or to go option as well!!

Can’t wait to see if there will be more flavours of sorbets to be added to this summer menu!!

*Some delicious macarons I picked up*

If you are looking for sweet summer sorbet sundae, then look no further than Butter Avenue as I highly recommend you stop by to try their Lychee Strawberry Sorbet sundae and see why I love it soooo much!! You can also try Butter Avenue other desserts available at their store especially their macarons like I did, couldn’t resist picking up some delicious macarons.

#3. Touti Gelati

My last recommendation for delicious, sweet & authentic made sorbets is Touti Gelati. I usually have a few go to spots for gelatos and sorbets places. But I recently discovered a new gelato/sorbet place and I couldn’t believe that I never heard of it before and so excited to share with you guys because some gelato places don’t have a large selection of sorbets maybe 2 or 3 flavours. This is not the case for Touti Gelati because it offers authentic Italian homemade gelato and sorbets with many flavours to choose from. I love the large selection of gelato and sorbets with classic flavours to new fresh ingredients to make new fun flavours!! That’s why I instantly loved this cozy and friendly gelato/sorbet place!!

I’m happy to be sharing this new gelato/sorbet place with you guys!! They also serve gelato shake and smoothies, which is dairy free, 100% made with crushed fruit and free of artificial ingredients. I was too full from my sorbet to try it, but would love to come back next time to try it. As well they also serve waffles, crepes, and other pastries along with coffee and tea. I’m not sure if the waffles and crepes are dairy free, which if you are interested to try it you would have to inquire about it.

With so many flavours of sorbets to choose from, I finally decided on the Mango and Strawberry flavours and I simply loved the mango sorbet flavour!!! It tasted like a real fresh actual mango but in a frozen treat. You can taste the fresh and homemade ingredients to the sorbet!! I can’t wait to come back and try the other flavours.

Touti Gelati have 2 locationstheir original location is the Queens Quay one downtown Toronto and their newer location is at the Beaches area so East of Toronto near Woodbine Beach. I went to the Beaches location of Touti Gelati as it was closer to me and a great location near Woodbine Beach to stop by after the beach to enjoy a frozen dessert to cool down. I also can’t wait to try the Queens Quay location next time!!! For more information about location and more for Touti Gelati, please see below my post.

I definitely recommend stopping by Touti Gelati with their large selection of flavours for sorbets along with their authentic and homemade quality taste!

My 2018 Macaron Day Adventure

Hi everyone,

Happy Belated Macaron Day & Happy Spring 2018 everyone!!! 🌞🌈🌷🌹  On March 20, 2018 marks the 1st Day of Spring, which was also Macaron Day celebrating these sweet elegant & delectable bite-sized dessert, macarons. A great way to start a new season, Spring with sweet & bright desserts and at the same time donate to a great cause, SickKids Foundation where each bakery donated 25% of their day’s sales to the SickKids Foundation in support of the SickKids VS campaign.

As we begin a new month already, April, my fave month is obviously March because it’s a special month of the year for me particularly because not only it is my birthday of course lol…but it also marks the 1st Day of Spring, which means finally warmer & sunnier days ahead, lighter jackets despite the fact that this Spring has been very verrryyyyy coldddd & with weirdly enough rain & snow too this year in Toronto so it still feels like winter unfortunately! But more importantly one of my fave type of dessert is celebrated on March 20, 2018, which is Macaron Day.

Who could forget one of my fave French small and delicate yet big flavour dessert macarons? Not me of course, I love that they have a special day to celebrate in Toronto, Paris, New York and Internationally. It’s like they created this special day just for me lol…😊 (Hmmm…wonder if they knew how much I love desserts when I was born lol!!)

History of Macaron Day

  • Macaron Day is celebrated around the world on the same day and coincides with “Jour du Macaron” in Paris.
  • Cities that celebrate Macaron Day include: Paris, New York, Toronto, Vancouver, London, Belgium, and Budapest. (Japan celebrates on March 21)
  • The focus of the day is to celebrate the first day of spring and give to a local charity.

Who else celebrated Macaron Day like me??? Which Macaron shop did you go to?? Would love to hear where some of you went, please leave your comments below! Thanks!!

On Macaron Day, I decided to visit my 2 fave bakeshops that specializes in macarons as it was hard to decide which one to go to so I decided why not go to both right?? It is of course Macaron Day and one can not have too many sweet elegant mini bites of French macarons right??

I made my 1st stop to Nadège Patisserie to their Queen St W location and it was my 1st time actually going to this location as they have 4 other locations in the GTA. I been to the Yorkdale and Scarborough Town Centre locations so far. Their newest location is the Path Richmond-Adelaide Centre one. I was greeted with a busy crowd in this cozy and modern bakery, a decent size with area of tables for you to enjoy your delicious French treats and desserts. It was busy obviously because it was Macaron Day and I loved their Macaron Day decorations.

There was a decent selection of macarons available and Nadège offered that day a limited edition of Macaron Day flavours that includes: Honey & Brie, Bailey’s Chocolate, Red Wine & Chocolate, Strawberry Guimauve, Earl Grey and Pomegranate Chocolate. I ended up choosing 3 flavours – the Red Wine & Chocolate for my sis and mines were – Earl Grey and Strawberry Guimauve. I loved the Strawberry Guimauve one a marshmallow taste and light one though!! I was disappointed with the Earl Grey one as I love everything Earl Grey esp macarons and was sad because the filling inside was chocolate and so you all know, I don’t eat chocolate. And sadly the chocolate overpowered any flavour of the Earl Grey so I didn’t taste any Earl Grey at all. That was the only disappointment! My sis loved her Red Wine & Chocolate though!

If you haven’t heard or stopped by Nadège Patisserie, I recommend you try them as they have some interesting flavours compared to other macaron places. They also offer not just macarons but other French pastries including cakes, mini cakes, donuts, tarts, and more. During special Holidays, they always have special chocolate items and since it was Easter next that they had small and large Easter chocolate eggs. Nadège has a great selection of desserts and treats for any occasion that’s why I always love stopping by them to get sweet treats.

After stopping by Nadège Patisserie, my last and final stop is of course at my annual fave macaron shop, Butter Avenue. It is a tradition that every year for Macaron Day I celebrate this sweet and delicious day with Butter Avenue and this year was no different.

Butter Avenue is my go to and definitely my top fave macaron shop and I stopped by their Queen and Spadina only location now. If you didn’t know, was sad to find out that their Yonge and Lawrence location closed late last year. That’s the location I usually always go to as it is much closer to where I live as it was mid-town compared to their downtown location. I sadly miss that location!! But hoping they open another location closer to where I live soon.

I still made the trip to downtown to their Queen and Spadina location as it is always worth to travel for Butter Avenue or in my case, I travel for any desserts. So this is no difference! If you haven’t heard of Butter Avenue, “offers an evolving selection of desserts and pastries created using classic French confectionary cookery and techniques, we pride ourselves on making our products with natural ingredients without added artificial flavours or preservatives.”Quote from Butter Avenue Official Website. Butter Avenue is unique from other macaron shops as they offer a twist to some of their macaron flavours with a sense of Japanese infusion flavours. I always love that and always can’t wait to see what new flavours they come up with.

They made special macaron flavours for Macaron Day, Butter Avenue made 40 exclusive one day only flavours to celebrate Macaron Day. They took it up a notch this year and introduced 4 categories of flavours“Sweet Table”, “Farmer’s Market”, “Lounge Bar” and “Tea Salon” to choose from. Wow what an amazing selection!!! That’s why I love Butter Avenue, they always surprise me with large variety of flavours and different unique ones to choose from too. I couldn’t wait to see what the flavours were as you don’t know what the exact flavours until you get to their shop!!

With the large variety of unique and delicious flavours to choose from, I ended up with a half dozen + one extra (as I couldn’t decide lol…plus I was sharing my macarons with my sisters, my niece and my mom), I chosen these following flavours – Roasted Green Tea, Osmanthus (Tea Blossom), Irish Coffee, Mimosas, Dark Chocolate, Wild Strawberry, and Terre Et Neige (Green tea & cocoa).

My 2 macaron flavours for me was Wild Strawberry and Tea Blossom macarons. Can I say I fell I love with the Tea Blossom macaron?? As some of you know, I love tea!!! It was a light tea blossom taste with a hint of floral very little with the right amount!!! I wish they make the Tea Blossom one of their new regular flavours!!

Macaron cotton candy

Overall, a very successful “Macaron Day” with my 2 faves bakeshops – Nadège Patisserie and Butter Avenue. You could not have ask for a more sweeter and perfect day for a dessert foodie like me to celebrate my fave elegant bite size dessert, macarons and to share these special desserts with my sisters, niece and my mom.

My 2017 Macaron Day with Butter Avenue

Hi everyone,

Welcome back everyone!! I’m back now, did you miss me?? 🙋 It’s been a very busy month of March for me as you all know I went for my birthday trip/vacation to beautiful and glamorous Las Vegas with my sister and niece. I had the most amazing time exploring the Vegas strip and sampling so much delicious and scrumptious food.

A quick update on my Vegas trip – Vegas is definitely the place to be if you want amazing and high quality food, no doubt I was definitely not disappoint with the many choices of restaurants and even desserts to choose from. It also helps that it simply was so beautiful there with the beautiful hotels with the most beautiful water fountains! Loving Vegas both day & night  esp. love the lights at night time & enjoyed the warm desert weather in March. I have to admit though there was a lot of walking, so not a relaxing trip, but lots to see and do. I had the most amazing and wonderful time at one of my fave travel destinations being there for the 2nd time and loving it more! A great way to celebrate my birthday, a bonus was a complimentary upgrade for my hotel room with the most beautiful balcony Bellagio and Paris view ever!!

If you haven’t been to Vegas, I highly recommend visiting there at least once as it is not just about the casinos, but there is so much to see and do especially the most amazing food in Vegas is one main reason I go and the shopping of course…:) Be sure to look out for a special blog post on my fave restaurants to check out in Vegas next month that I am currently working on.

Don’t forget for the latest updates about my sweet food blog or my food adventures, please follow me on Twitter @SweetBFoodie24 and Instagram @SweetBFoodie24. If you were following me on my Instagram account while I was on my Vegas trip, then you would have seen a few yummy food & beautiful scenery photos during my trip.

March seems to be an important month of the year for me because not only my birthday of course lol…but it also marks the 1st Day of Spring, which means warmer weather, but most importantly one of my fave type of dessert is celebrated on March 20, 2018, which is Macaron Day.

Who could forget one of my fave French small and delicate yet big flavour dessert macarons? Not me of course, I love that they have a special day to celebrate in Toronto, Paris, New York and Internationally. Yes, this is a late post on Macaron Day and if you missed it, please mark March 20, 2018 in your calendar for next year for the next Macaron Day or there is always no time like the present to enjoy a simple yet delicious macaron as you can enjoy macarons any day of the year!

If you did celebrate Macaron Day, which bakery did you celebrate it with? Would love to hear where some of you went, please comment below! Thank you!

This year I celebrated Macaron Day with one of my fave bakery shop, Butter Avenue. I wasn’t able to visit more macaron bakeshops that day as unfortunately I was working my full time Admin job and didn’t have enough time to visit more. But I made time for my fave bakery shop, Butter Avenue where purchased half a dozen of macarons to share with my sisters and niece. I also sampled one of their new mini dessert – “Over the Moon” consisting of Vanilla Créme brûlée, raspberry puree, raspberry mousse, all natural lemon crème and their delicious Raspberry mini macaron on top! I loved the mini dessert, it was perfect size and it wasn’t too sweet. I hope that they would make these mini desserts a regular item on their bakery list as this was a limited edition dessert during Macaron Day weekend.

Butter Avenue partnered with Chef David Lee who is the executive chef of one of the best restaurant in Canada, Nota Bene, to create 3 distinctive macarons for Macaron Day. I sampled one of the 3 distinctive macarons, their Uji Matcha Passionfruit and as I’m not a fan of passionfruit, but I simply loved this new flavour. I didn’t expect it at all, it had the right sweetness of the passionfruit and a pop of flavour from the green tea matcha. Wow!!! Great combination for this macaron flavour. I also got my fave Earl Gray, Almond Raspberry Cake along with a few other faves that my sisters love. As desserts are always sweeter to share and was happy to share them with my sisters.

For Macaron Day, Butter Avenue despite not being one of the official participating locations for Macaron Day, they donated their 1/3 of the day’s sales to Kids Cook to Care foundation. I’m happy to celebrate and still be help give back to the community while enjoying my sweets.

While for Macaron Day TO, their participating locations in Toronto and GTA with a simple purchase of a macaron, 25% of the proceeds will be donated to – Red Door Family Shelter on March 20.

With the end of a busy yet fun month of March, marks the start of a new month for April. April means more warmer Spring weather and sweet treats for Easter!! As I unwind and settle back into my regular routine after my amazing Vegas trip, back on the hunt for the next sweet and healthy foodie adventure.

So don’t forget to come back and join me next month and see what sweet & healthy blog post I have in store for you all. Cheers to my fave month filled with sweet macarons in March!!! 🎉🎈🍹 (you think they made Macaron Day in March for me?)

My Sweet Adventure on Macaron Day 2016

Hi everyone,

Happy Belated Macaron Day & it’s officially Spring now as of last weekend on March 20, 2016 marks the 1st Day of Spring despite the fact that in Toronto it haven’t felt like Spring more like winter esp after that ice storm we just had.

Sorry for the lack of blog posts, it’s been a busy month of March for me with my birthday celebrations (yes my birthday just past this week…😀) and busy at work adjusting to my recently new position. I hope that you would be patient with me and still continue to be here waiting for me with my sweet entries for me to share with you, my sweet readers! If you are wondering when my next blog posts are, you can always check my Twitter account for the latest updates as I’m quite active on Twitter.

Now onto why I’m here to share with you my sweet heavenly day last weekend on Sunday, March 20, 2016 for Macaron Day. This is my 3rd Year celebrating this sweet elegant & delectable bite-sized dessert, macarons. As you know, macarons is one of my fave type of desserts. Of course it comes with no surprise that I will be celebrating my love for macarons!

Macaron Day TO not only celebrates our love for macarons, but also additional 25% of purchased macarons will be donated to Red Door Family Shelter. For who don’t know about Macaron Day, Toronto will offer macaron lovers complimentary macarons to enjoy at local pastry shops. To receive a complimentary macaron, you would visit one of the participating patisserie that is listed on the Macaron Day TO website and just simply mention that you are celebrating Macaron Day TO.

This year I decided to stop by 2 of my fave pastry shops as it was hard to decide which one to go to. My 1st stop was to Dessert Lady and I was one of their lucky winners to win a box of their new Doncaron (Donut Macaron basically & it’s one of the new trend right now for macarons). I was excited to taste the Donut Macarons! They were offering 5 flavours of the Donut Macarons – Strawberry Jelly, Confetti, Chocolate Dip, Maple Dip and Boston Cream.  My fave definitely was the Strawberry Jelly and it was delicious, it actually tasted like the real donut. I definitely recommend you try Dessert Lady new creation – Doncaron! I also picked up the traditional French Macarons – Raspberry Lemon Twist (which is my fave now) and Mango flavours that these flavours reminded me of Spring time. I love the Raspberry Lemon Twist!! One of my new fave flavours!! I definitely recommend it. I simply love their Instagram booth that they had out that day to interact with customers.

When I stopped by Dessert Lady, it was quite busy, but I’m always happy to be greeted by their staff and feel welcome there despite how busy it was. It was great seeing a few familiar faces there as well as I been there quite often. I was very happy with my selection of macarons there! Dessert Lady was one of the participating patisserie for Macaron Day To who gave out samples of their Doncaron!

My next stop was to my annual stop that I go every year for Macaron Day TO, which is Butter Avenue. I love going to Butter Avenue every year as they always have a special limited edition flavours that day and I always love to try new flavours. Plus Butter Avenue never disappoints me with their delicious macarons.

Butter Avenue this year have 30 limited edition flavours at both of their locations that day and as well this year they are donating 30% of the day’s sales to @kidscooktocare. I went to the Yonge & Lawrence location. It was hard to choose which flavours I would like to try that day as I got half a dozen so picking 6 flavours to share with my sisters. As it’s always more sweeter to share with others.

I ended up choosing: Strawberry Yogurt, Raspberry Marshmallow, Passionfruit Marshmallow, Green Apple Matcha and Coconut Apricot. My fave in the end was the Coconut Apricot, which I was surprised as I’m not a huge fan of Coconut but the apricot and coconut mixed together was simply delicious it’s hard to describe how it tasted. I love the Coconut Apricot! I hope that they will bring back some of the flavours as I wanted to also try: Dragon Eye and Raspberry Rose just to name a few.

Overall, what a sweet & heavenly day for me as a macaron lover, both Dessert Lady & Butter Avenue fulfilled my love for sweet French macarons that day! You can never get enough macarons, I love trying new creations and new flavours that day.

I am already looking forward to Macaron Day TO next year 2017!!

Now I’m off looking for my next sweet adventure, until then…

As we all know, the Holidays is always a busy time of year for everyone between Christmas shopping, hosting or attending Christmas parties, decorating Christmas trees and more, where do you find the time to bake? Well for those readers who either looking for a last minute or even those looking for desserts, sweets or bakery items like cakes, cupcakes, etc to bring to their Christmas dinners to family, friends and even Christmas work parties, here are my 3 Faves and Best Bakeries Recommendations.

The first bakery I recommend is my fave and go-to bakery and well known as Toronto’s ultimate One Stop Sweet Shop is Dessert Lady. Dessert Lady is conveniently located in Yorkville in their cozy quaint shop where they have over 350 menu items to choose from ranging from Gourmet Cakes, Handmade Chocolate Truffles, French Macarons, Cupcakes, Banana loafs, ice cream, and much more. Dessert Lady also specialize in beautiful custom 3D cakes for any celebration as well they offer catering with custom treats with corporate logos. Every time I visit their shop, I am welcomed with their warm atmosphere filled with sweet treats coming from their freshly baked oven. Dessert Lady has never disappointed me in satisfying my sweet cravings. On my most recent visit to the bakery, I was surprised to find the last one of my fave oatmeal cookies on the shelves, perfect timing! No one makes oatmeal cookies like Dessert Lady. I never leave the shop without purchasing one sweet treat, it is so hard to resist!!

Recently, Dessert Lady upgraded their website to a brand new updated look, it looks amazing and now you can check online live what cakes are available that day along with a special Rewards program to earn points to get discount on their sweet bakery items! The 2nd bakery I recommend is Mad Batter Bakers esp during the Christmas time as they make the most delicious Gingerbread cookies in Toronto. I first discovered Mad Batter Bakers at the One of a Kind Christmas Show a few years ago and ever since then I don’t go anywhere else for my soft & delicious Gingerbread cookies. After discovering Mad Batter Bakers at the One of A Kind Christmas show, it is a must stop at my fave cookie shop, the Mad Batter Bakers booth at my Annual tradition of attending the One of A Kind Christmas Show to get their soft delicious Gingerbread cookies.

Mad Batter Baker specializes in soft Gingerbread cookies and Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies. Besides how delicious their cookies taste, their cookies look so pretty too, I simply love their not overly sweet icing on their cookies as some places make the icings really sweet. It is made perfectly! Mad Batter Bakers also have cookies available for ready to decorate your own gingerbread cookies too. They also do custom cookies order as well. Check out some of my photos from their booth at One of A Kind Show.

Gingerbread cookies always reminds me of Christmas as I’m sure most people do too, but for me Gingerbread cookies also reminds me of the Holidays and a time spent with my family and if you love Gingerbread cookies as much as I do then look no further than Mad Batter Bakers who make the best Gingerbread cookies with their light spice aroma of the cookies when you open the box it smells like Christmas and the soft chewy taste. What I love about their Gingerbread cookies is it lasts for quite awhile as I had them for 2 weeks and they are still fresh and soft. According to their website, their Gingerbread cookies last for 3 months. Please see below more photos from their One Of A Kind Show booth when I went this year. This year one of Mad Batter Bakers new items is called: Mug Mates, it is so cute, it comes in a set of four, check out the photo below of the one I saw at the show.

If you can’t make it to the One of A Kind Christmas show or they are also at the One of A Kind Spring show in 2016 (who can wait that long lol! For your future reference as they do attend both shows) to pick up one of their delicious boxes of Gingerbread cookies or Old Fashioned Sugar cookies for Christmas, you can visit them located in the Liberty Village district in Toronto. Their bakery shop is located in between Dufferin and Strachen Avenue.

I haven’t had a chance to visit their bakery shop in person yet, but I definitely can’t wait to check their shop and pick up more Gingerbread cookies for Christmas as I can never get enough of their delicious & soft Gingerbread cookies.

Check out below of their sweet Christmas sign in front of their shop posted on their Instagram account.

The 3rd bakery that I would recommend if you are specifically looking for macarons would definitely recommend of course my fave Butter Avenue. Butter Avenue is specializes in macarons and they simply make the best macarons with natural ingredients and no added artificial flavours or preservatives.

Butter Avenue also have delicious cakes and tarts as well as beverages including coffee, espresso, tea, and more. They currently have decorated cakes and tarts with limited edition chocolates & macarons just in time for Christmas! So go check them out!

Another reason why I would recommend Butter Avenue is because of their exceptional and friendly customer service. I been to both of their locations and have always received very friendly and also very helpful customer service. If you need assistance or advice on particular maracons, the staff at Butter Avenue is quite helpful and they know their products, which is why I keep coming back to this elegant and amazing bakery shop.

I recently stopped by their Yonge & Lawrence location as I haven’t been by the shop recently and picked up some macarons to share with my sister for Christmas as well my first time trying their Tarte Aux Pommes w/ granny smith apples, crème pâtissière vanille, cinnamon sugar & caramel apple concentrate and it was simply delicious!!!! I loved it!! I love apple desserts and this is probably one of my new faves. Please check out some new photos I took of the bakery shop while I was there with some beautiful Christmas decorations and Christmas desserts like one of their tarts in a Snowman shape. There are a few Christmas macarons flavours that includes: Gingerbread, Candy Cane, Molten Chocolate Marshmallow and Hazelnut Cranberry.

Butter Avenue Update: Sharing More of my Love for Macarons on Easter Weekend

Hi everyone!!

Happy Easter long weekend everyone!!! Sorry maybe a bit late for my greetings for all, but hope everyone been having a sweet Easter treats for this Easter weekend!

For those still looking for some sweet treats, maybe a macaron I may suggest? Well, if I didn’t love macarons before, I think I love these little sweet bites aka macarons even more now than before. Is that possible? Why you ask? Well as you all know or didn’t know, my previous blog I written celebrating ‘Macaron Day’ with my fave macaron shop, Butter Avenue.

I would like to share with my readers that I was one of the lucky social media winners frm Butter Avenue contest where I was picked by sharing my sweet photos from that day.  For this Easter weekend, I thought it was perfect timing to pick up my delightful macarons prize from Butter Avenue where I enjoyed and tried different types of macarons. My fave definitely still is their Spring flavour, ‘Spring My Love’ as I love that bite in the middle with the raspberry raising the taste of the entire macaron. My new fave that I tried is the Earl Grey flavour and fell in love with it instantly! Every bite of it was perfect, it tasted exactly like my fave tea – Earl Grey, which blew me away.

Spring Flowers w/ my fave flavour – Spring My Love, Lychee Raspberry and Strawberry White Chocolate

I would like to again thank you Butter Avenue for rewarding me with these special, sweet and satisfying macarons to celebrate my Easter weekend and sharing them with my sisters! I look forward to coming back next time for future delicious macarons and looking forward to new flavours coming up!

Butter Avenue is definitely the place to go if you are looking for the best macarons in Toronto! If you haven’t picked up a sweet yet small delicate treat to celebrate Easter, there is always time still to go to Butter Avenue to do so!

For now, I leave you with these sweet bite size thoughts and will be looking for my next sweet (this time not a macaron lol) adventure to share with you all very soon!

Celebrating Macaron Day at Butter Avenue in Toronto

Hi everyone!!

Welcoming everyone back to my “sweet” blog, I’m back now!! 🙂 Sorry it’s been quite sometime now since I last updated. I will try my best to keep my blog regularly updated from now on as you all know, it’s sometimes hard to do so with busy lives balancing out work, family and etc . Recently started a new job, so I’m learning to balance my life still. But my passion as always been about food particularly sweets and will continue to show that passion through my blog.

I thought it was perfect timing to start my blog again celebrating one of my fave sweet delicate desserts, “Macaron Day”, which was on Friday, March 20, 2015. As well it was the first day of Spring! There were so many things to celebrate on Friday! Macaron Day is also celebrated in other International cities along with Toronto, which celebrates these delicate confections in support of a local charity called: Red Door Family Shelter. There were participating patisseries across Toronto will come together to offer complimentary macarons to customers. For participating patisseries, please check out the website: http://www.macarondayto.com for future Macaron Days.

To celebrate “Macaron Day”, I went to my fave macaron shop, Butter Avenue, for the 2nd time that I have celebrated Macaron Day, but this time to the Queen and Spadina location one. It was my first time going to the Queen and Spadina location. I was surprised that there was a line up to get into the shop, but it was definitely worth the wait as I didn’t wait that long anyways maybe 5 minutes. Butter Avenue had 29 flavours available dedicated for this special “Macaron Day” that will not be available on a regular basis. I was very interested in that so that’s why I definitely wanted to try the new flavours.

There were so many flavours to choose from, which was hard to pick as they all sound so good lol! I ended up getting these flavours: Spring My Love (Safflower Raspberry), Secret Garden (Rose Mix Berries), Berry Yogurt, Red Bean Matcha, Sea Salt Caramel, and Almond Brûlée. I bought half a dozen and shared it with my sister who also loves macarons. I wish I bought more lol, but they were so delicious to enjoy. My fave I have to say was the Berry Yogurt and Spring My Love!

One of my macarons – Berry Yogurt up close. Love how my purple ring matches the macaron!

As well, Butter Avenue this year was donating 35% of their macaron’s sales that day to the North York General Hospital Foundation. According to their Instagram account, it was a record breaking fundraising day and I’m happy to have participated in to help them out.

For those who joined in to celebrate “Macaron Day”, I hope that you all have enjoyed your sweet treat ‘cause who doesn’t appreciate a little sweetness in their tastebuds. And for those who didn’t celebrate it, it is never too late to enjoy a small yet sweet macaron anytime of the day. Those looking for the best macarons in T.O, look no further than Butter Avenue. They will not disappoint! Definitely will be coming back for more macarons next time!

For now, will be looking for my next inspiration for the next blog. Looking for my next sweet adventure….
